Hello to old friends and all the new friends and CC family members......
I finally feel that old man winter has left the midwest. I say... this has been one long and snowy winter here in Illinois. Planting and field work is very behind here... This past week we finally saw the tractors working the rich black ground found only in the midwest.
Cows are calving... My son Adam's herd is doing well and he has some nice new calves. We have a new little family member over here at CC's, a bucket calf that the kids are having a ball with.
Our little Eli will be one the end of next month and is just more precious everyday!! (all kinds of new photos on the Main Family Photo link to the left.
I am doing well!!! busy but then I apparently like to be because I sure have been and will be this summer too. You know the saying "To everything there is a season" I apply that to the retirng of my beloved Riley... It was time... He has served me so well and produced so many beautiful puppies for CC's it was a difficult decision. But I did it. I even found what I hope to be the perfect home for him. His new family is kind and understanding. He will be a constant companion to a young lady who stays home all day. Updates are that he has bonded to her so well and are best of friends. I do have to say that placing Riley was more upsetting to me than I would like to admit. My family probably thought I was a babbling women!!! To sum it up... I only want the best possible home for him. He deserves a good life and I would throw in the towel if I ever heard that any of my retired crew ended up in an unsavory environment due to lack of commitment. Yes, I take things that much to heart!
With retiring some crew always means that new CC Crew members are up and coming. Check back to see what is new at CC's this spring.......
I would also like to make mention, that I have been so blessed with my families who make the effort to come to the Country. Your comments and words of encouragement are greatly appreciated. As I have told you.... Your kind words on all my hard work are the ONLY thing that keeps me going!!!
